I was living in Wicker Park and a dispute with my landlord erupted over the conditions of my departure. Startled, I called Brabender Law and asked about options. Andy was cordial, sensible and gently tenacious as he directed me to take legal action. I felt confident with him representing me, and for good reason, as we settled almost overnight. The landlord caved, I got paid fairly, and I learned a happy lesson about the legal system. Know your rights and find a good lawyer to exercise them! Andy Brabender represented me and my roomates a dozen years ago and I still to this day recommend him to anyone who tells me they're having landlord trouble. I had just moved out of an apartment with a baby on the way. We took a couple extra days to very diligently make sure the place was clean and in better condition than we had left it. The landlord was not forthcoming with my security deposit and gave me the runaround for a couple of months; eventually ignoring my calls. When I'd visit their place of business to attempt face-to-face contact, they would see come in and suddenly disappear from the premises. Andy was referred to me by a lawyer acquaintance of mine and he very quickly put things in motion. He took the time to assure me of how things were going to go in a way that felt incredibly friendly. When I was a young fresh out of college kid a landlord tried to take advantage of me. Andy helped me not only shut down the landlord’s claims but also ended up winning me a lot of money!
